Marr Mooditj means “good hands” and our guiding principle is “Aboriginal Health in Aboriginal Hands”.

Our Vision is “To eliminate the gap in the employment rate between Aboriginal people and the wider population in the health and community services sector”.
Marr Mooditj Foundation is a registered training organisation (RTO) delivering courses in Primary Health Care and Nursing.  Marr Mooditj Foundation is committed to provide Aboriginal students with the opportunity to access the highest quality education delivered in a culturally appropriate learning environment.  We understand that Aboriginal health is viewed in a holistic context that encompasses emotional, physical, cultural and spiritual health.  
Our practice-focused approach to delivery means that the courses will firmly integrate theory and practice, providing links between the underpinning knowledge required for effective and safe practice and the skills required in the workplace.  In order to assist students who live in regional areas or those who are working full time, delivery is provided in blocks of two to three weeks duration.   
The training at Marr Mooditj Foundation will qualify you to become either an Aboriginal Health Worker or an Aboriginal Mental Health Worker or an Enrolled Nurse.    
By apply the principles of Primary Health Care you can promote health by preventing ill health, managing common health problems and providing ongoing health care within the context of cultural norms. You can progress to tertiary education and become leaders in the promotion of Aboriginal Health.
 

The overall focus of Marr Mooditj Foundation is;

  1. Providing knowledge and skills for Aboriginal people to enable them to deliver a holistic service in health and community care.
  2. To enable Aboriginal people to incorporate cultural aspects within health and community service sector.
  3. To develop and promote preventative health and community service programs conversant with ongoing government policies.
  4. Facilitate opportunities for Aboriginal people to enter and succeed in the higher education sector.
  5. To increase sustainable employment opportunities for Aboriginal people.

Privacy and Confidentiality

MMF operates under the provisions of the Privacy Act and treats all information relating to enrolment, training and assessment with respect and confidentiality.  Some course may require a police clearance for field work (Practicum Placement).
